A CDM project activity is additional if anthropogenic emission of greenhouse gases by source are reduce below those that would have occurred in the absence of the proposed project.

The methodology includes validation and verification process, in which validation process covered an independent evaluation of the CDM requirements while verification process covers involvement of the regional DOE (Designated Operational Entity)

How to avoid pitfalls in Project Development according to Jenny Granath are:

1.       Follow the methodology and use available tools such as the Executive Board (UN) additional test

2.       Consult a DOE and get a third party review of the make or break issues at the early stage

3.       A quality of project Development (PDD) and documentary evidence to support it collected at an early stage will reduce delays and lesson risk of failure

4.       Do not promise something that you can’t keep in PDD

5.       Appoint the services of DOE to carry out a pre-verification process.

CONCLUSION

Thorough work on the PDD from an early stage will significantly produce a successful of the project.
