OPEN FORUM ON PERSPECTIVE OF EMERGENCY AND DISASTER MANAGEMENT IN THE CONTEXT OF GLOBAL WARMING

As the world is facing different emergencies and disasters, challenged by Global Warming, it is time to address the perspective of future Emergency and Disaster Management in line with Global Warming related issues. To do so The Open Forum on Perspective of Emergency and Disaster Management in the context of Global Warming was developed to address the future challenges to give an overview form different perspectives, globally, regionally, nationally and locally down to the community, family and individual levels. 

The Forum Organized by International Training Consortium on Disaster Risk Reduction (ITC-DRR) and Supported by the Ministry of Health (MOH) – Indonesia, World Health Organization (WHO) and Japan International Corporation for Welfare services (JICWELS).

There are 40 participants who is interested in learning, sharing their experiences on Perspective of Emergency and Disaster Management in relation to Global Warming.

The Open Forum is also an integral part of the International Training Course on Emergency and Disaster Management, to be organized from 26 November to 8 December 2007, organized by the International Training Consortium on Disaster Risk Reduction (ITC-DRR), and supported by the Ministry of Health Indonesia, World Health organization, Japan International Corporation for Welfare Services (JICWELS) and many participating agencies.

The objective of this Forum are To create an environment where participants will be able to share and learn different perspectives of emergency and disaster management in relation to the challenges faced by the Global Warming in Denpasar (Bali) on 07.12.2007.

For Follow Up Activity, ITC-DRR will be come important alliance to address the challenges of Global Warming in the near future.
